Beanies for first chair, last run & everything after

Beanies for first chair, last run & everything after

Fourteen beanies built on one idea: the knit you reach for every morning from November to April. Merino and wool blends, a hand-finished cuff, and our emblem embroidered small enough to be a secret.

The Atelier line is knitted from merino-cashmere and brushed mohair blends, finished by hand and numbered inside the cuff. Softer, warmer, and a little quieter than everything else we make.

The Performance line was tested across a season in Verbier and Niseko by riders who wear a helmet nine hours a day. Low-profile crowns, merino next to skin, and no seam where the goggle strap sits. Every piece carries the Whiteout brush-script logo across the front, stitched loud in contrast thread.

“A beanie is the smallest garment you own and the one closest to your head. It should be made like it matters.”
A whiteout is when the sky and the snow turn the same colour and you ride on feel. Those are the days we design for: cold, loud, and better with the crew.
We make beanies and a few caps. Nothing else. Focus is what lets us obsess over gauge, crown depth and the hand of a yarn.
Cashmere from Biella, merino from Prato, knitting in Portugal and Italy. Every piece carries its mill on the inside label.
Our emblem is 12 mm wide. If you know, you know. If you don't, you simply see a beautifully made beanie.

Snow Pants Collection 01 is in development. Every image in this collection is a high-resolution concept render made from the WHITEOUT lookbook, not a photograph of a manufactured product. Designs, colours, materials and details may change before production. Pre-order currently registers your interest only: no order is placed, no payment is taken, and no delivery date has been set.
Whiteout Headwear was founded by three friends who spent every winter they could in the Valais and never found a beanie that felt as considered as the rest of what they wore. The technical ones looked technical. The fashion ones fell apart in a season. So we made our own, in small numbers, with the mills that make knitwear for the houses we admire.
We do one thing. We make beanies, and a few caps for the months in between. Doing one thing lets us obsess over details nobody else bothers with: the depth of a crown so it sits right under a helmet, a rib that recovers after four months of being pulled on and off, a cashmere that softens rather than pills.
Our pieces are knitted in Portugal and Italy from yarns we can name. Every beanie carries its mill on the inside label, and every Atelier piece is numbered. We do not run sales. We make what we believe in, price it fairly once, and stand behind it with a lifetime repair service.
If you wear one of ours on a cold ridge at first light, you'll understand the name.

A rigid stone-grey box with a blind-debossed emblem, lined in unbleached cotton. Inside: the beanie folded once, a numbered card with the mill of origin and care notes, and a cedar sachet. No plastic anywhere. The box is designed to be kept.
